Hello, World

I've been building iOS apps for over a decade but never wrote about any of it. Figured it was time.

This is where I'll post short things about technology. Stuff I learn shipping apps, SwiftUI patterns that surprised me, opinions about the App Store, whatever.

Why write?

Mostly because writing forces me to actually understand what I think. I also want to keep a record of what it's like running a one person app studio. The good parts and the embarrassing parts.

There's a lot of iOS content from people at big companies. Less from people shipping their own products soup to nuts. That's the gap I want to fill.

What to expect

Short posts. No padding. I'll write about SwiftUI, App Store optimization, the economics of indie dev, my tools and workflows, and occasionally I'll do a longer post about a specific feature I built.

The stack

Every app at Pomona App Studio is SwiftUI for the UI, SwiftData for persistence, Firebase for analytics and backend stuff. One person doing design, code, and marketing.

If any of that sounds interesting, stick around.
